Sloan Wilson, (1920-2003). American author who often wrote from experience. His experiences in the soul-killing corporate culture of Time-Life, Inc. led to his second and most well-known novel, The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit (1955), which sold two million copies and was adapted into a movie in 1956 starring Gregory Peck.
Sloan Wilson has written a reply to autograph a copy of his book The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit for an “anxious customer” at the bottom of a letter from bookseller, Travis Moore. Sloan has written “O.K. Will do, Sloan Wilson” in black ink. The typed letter is dated September 15,1955, the year of publication, and is in mint condition, having been folded in thirds for mailing. The envelope sent by Sloan Wilson is engraved with his return address.
